A man who appeared yesterday before the Georgetown Magistrate's Court accused of raping a woman in the cemetery was placed on $45,000 bail.

It is alleged that last Wednesday, Neville Haynes, 24, of 234 Middle Road La Penitence had carnal knowledge of a young woman without her consent.

According to reports, the man threatened the woman and took her to Cemetery Road in the burial ground and allegedly committed the act.

Haynes has to go to Court 1 on May 19 for the next hearing of the indictable matter.
