X-ray
shows bottle in woman after gang rape
Doctors at the Georgetown Hospital have reportedly found
a bottle stuck in the vagina of a woman who is suspected to be the
victim of a gang rape.
The 55-year-old woman of Bounty Hall, Essequibo Coast remains in
a critical condition at the institution after she was transferred
from the Suddie Hospital where she had spent several days without
regaining consciousness.
Family members told Kaieteur News that an x-ray revealed that the
object was stuck in the woman's vagina and it is believed that it
was forcefully placed there after she was gang raped two Saturdays
ago.
The woman was discovered lying naked in a pool of blood at her
home by her husband hours after she had returned from a wedding in
the village.
Neighbours said she may have been gang-raped by drug addicts in
the area.
They said that they heard nothing that suggested that the woman
was in trouble.
No one has been arrested and females are now fearful of being
alone at home.
Police are investigating the matter.
