Raunchy quest?
THE Guyana Chronicle editorial last Friday headed, `Fostering racial harmony’, referred to the numbers who came out in “unity” for this year’s Mashramani, though even a cursory glance would tell that it was again well over 90 per cent African Guyanese participating.

Is it real?

If the Guyana Chronicle is stating that a majority of Africans and a small percentage of Indians and Amerindians, and a couple of Chinese are representative of Guyana’s population, then we can begin to grasp why the government continues to fail in every department.

For them, over half of the population does not exist!

For Indians and many decent-minded Africans, Republic Day is a day of rest, though a good number would probably catch up on their chores or take their families for an outing. They have their own “sporting” style despite what the government encourages, since it makes sure that we all – Africans,

Indians and Amerindians - descend to the lowest level that we possibly can.
